The Opportunity

The Development team actively seeks and stewards philanthropic gifts to the Institute and is the first port of call for all donors both existing and potential. We foster a broad community of philanthropic partners including individuals, families, foundations, corporates and community groups. Building and maintaining meaningful relationships with donors, both individually and as a community, is an essential focus of the Development team.

We currently have an opportunity for a Trusts & Foundations Manager who will be responsible for driving Telethon Kids Institute’s Trusts & Foundations programs from national and international sources. Supported by broader Development Team, and working closely alongside the Head of Development and Philanthropy Major Gifts Manager this role will refine and execute the relationship and fundraising strategy in the Trusts & Foundations stream by proactively engaging with researchers and relevant internal and external stakeholders to identify national and international major gift prospect opportunities.

Some of your duties in this role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Maintaining the stewardship of current funders.
  • Working with the Head of Development on key funding priorities that meet national and international funder priorities.
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders and research team to develop best practice approaches and asks.
  • Produce high quality proposals and submissions in partnership with research teams.
  • Effectively collaborating with the broader Development team to foster a culture of philanthropy across the organisation.
  • Attending donor and other Telethon Kids events, as required.
  • Maintaining and updating all data requirements for prospects, moves management and stewardship in Salesforce.

Conveniently located within the Perth Children’s Hospital, this exciting opportunity will be offered on a full-time fixed term basis for 12 months as a parental leave contract.

About You

This position is well suited to someone who has a tertiary qualification in fundraising, communications or project management and/or has demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in a related field.

The key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, stakeholder engagement and familiar with moves management processes and CRM systems used.
  • Previous success in strategic management of a major gift fundraising and stewardship program.
  • Possess superior people skills – caring, consultative, collaborative and collegiate with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships that build trust.
  • Be a strategic and creative thinker and planner who enjoys working across multiple projects.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills across a range of different stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to write quality proposals, applications, reports, plans and correspondence.
