We adopt a collective impact model, serving as the backbone support organisation, coordinating and facilitating efforts to improve educational outcomes across the region.
Position Overview:
The Project Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of various projects aimed at enhancing educational outcomes for children and young people. This position requires a highly motivated and autonomous individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively within a high-functioning community services organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plan, implement, and monitor multiple projects concurrently, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget with oversight.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, schools, organisations, and other stakeholders.
- Reporting: Prepare and present project updates, reports, and evaluations to the Executive Officer and other relevant stakeholders.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyse data to inform project development and evaluate outcomes.
- Community Outreach: Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and presentations to engage and inform stakeholders about ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Funding and Grants: Assist in identifying funding opportunities and preparing grant applications to support project activities.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Executive Officer and other team members as required.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications: A certificate, diploma or tertiary qualification in education, social sciences, community development, youth work or a related field.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in project delivery within a community services or education-focused organisation.
- Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive organisational culture.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
Desirable:
- Experience working with children and young people in an educational or community setting.
- Knowledge of the education system and issues affecting children and young people in South West Victoria.
- Familiarity with collective impact models and community-driven initiatives
Required:
- Current Working with Children’s Check
- Driver’s Licence and vehicle*
- Current Police Check
*Please note that travel in own vehicle is a requirement of this role with reimbursement as per current SCHADS charter
