Liz has had over 25 years’ experience in a range of fields that compliment working for social impact. She has held roles in multiple sectors and academia.
Liz joined the Melbourne Business School in 2009 and was instrumental in establishing the Asia Pacific Social Impact Centre (APSIC) and the Centre for Ethical Leadership. In 2011 she was selected as the inaugural research fellow to lead a three-year research partnership between APSIC and The Trust Company which focused on strategic philanthropy and culminated in the release of the Reports: Philanthropy: Towards a Better Practice Model (2018) and Philanthropy – The Continued Journey to Real Impact and Better Practice (2021).
In 2018, Liz was appointed CEO of the Menzies Foundation and in this capacity launched a catalytic strategy to address pressing leadership challenges, raise the profile and importance of ‘outstanding leadership’ and build a leadership movement that encourages Australians to reflect on leadership, pivot to purpose, build their own leadership capability and contribute to the ‘greater good’.
In March 2018, Liz was appointed as an Honorary (Fellow) Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Melbourne.
Liz is also Director and Co-Founder of fashion styling portal Elvie & Leo and of Yal Yal Estate, a vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula.
Liz has extensive governance experience, having served on the Boards of the Public Galleries Association of Victoria, Social Firms Australia, Uniting Care Community Options, United Way Australia and on the Development Committee of the Towards a Just Society Foundation. She is currently on the Philanthropic Advisory Board of Barmalbijiril.
