This Month, Evans and Partners was proud to host The Funding Network’s Thriving Young People event in Melbourne for the second time. Together, they raised a formidable $137, 250 for three incredible grass roots charitable organisations (Ocean Mind, Mountain Track & Worthy Cause) committed to creating positive outcomes for young people experiencing disadvantage across Victoria.Pictured above are the representatives from the three chosen grassroots charities – Ocean Mind, Mountain Track and Worthy Cause after their donations were revealed at The Funding Network’s Thriving Young People event in Melbourne. The session included a presentation by esteemed Australian social researcher Dr Rebecca Huntley. Dr Huntley shared her insights from Sydney Women’s Fund’s latest research survey of more than 1,000 Sydney women: Sydney Women’s Fund Portrait V, Women of Greater Sydney Research. The study presented a picture of the challenges faced by Sydney women, delving into the issues that matter most to them. We also heard from a panel of leaders in philanthropy focused on improving the lives of women and families in Sydney and beyond;

We hosted farewell events in both Sydney and Melbourne. BankSA staff, customers and supporters of BankSA Foundation came together at the spectacular Adelaide Zoo for a fantastical evening to help raise vital funds for BankSA Foundation who in turn supports the small, local charities in SA/NT focussed on creating brighter futures for children and young people experiencing disadvantage. The event raised more than $147,000 that will go directly towards BankSA Foundation’s grant programs. Guildhouse was proud to host the launch of its new donor circle, ‘Creative Visionaries’ at Burnside Village. The Guildhouse Creative Visionaries are a new group of leading benefactors who will contribute significantly to Guildhouse’s strategic initiatives. Our 3 speakers shared practical research, tools and examples of how to apply a gender lens to your giving to intentionally invest in women and girls and accelerate gender equality. Topic discussed ranged from how to build relationships with funders, income diversification and paying what it takes. It aims to increase knowledge in employment and training pathways, as well as address the barriers that exist for young parents that can prohibit their successful transition to work and/or study. This group is supported by philanthropic partner Hand Heart Pocket – The Charity of Freemasons Queensland. Through BYB, many women identified that they wished to start their own small businesses. With this knowledge, Micah Projects partners with FY Consulting to deliver a group where the women receive advice and education from business consultant Michael Jorgensen, while also continuing to motivate, empower and inspire each other. Pictured are Jazmin and Michael Jorgensen.On Tuesday 5 March, Foundation SA partnered with Youth Opportunities Australia Ltd to celebrate #internationalwomensday2024 with a Women in Philanthropy event. Our panel, featuring Stacey Thomas, The Wyatt Trust, Lisa Tarca, Milner Road Foundation and Kathryn House, Impact100 South Australia, shared their stories of giving back in all it’s forms and the importance of aligning your giving to your passion, values and community. The panel was expertly led by local legend Jane Doyle and Youth Opportunities graduate, Laticia. Global Citizen is a global movement of engaged citizens rallying around the critical issues of extreme poverty, climate change and inequality. We heard from incredible leaders including Julia Gillard AC, local ministers such as Pat Conroy, The Minister for international Development and the Pacific, world leaders like Ban Ki Moon, Former Secretary-General of the United Nations, artists and sports stars like Ellia Green and Charlie Puth, all calling on our regional government leaders, corporate leaders, and philanthropists to activate in the fight against extreme poverty, climate change and inequality.
