NEXUS Australia gears up for Melbourne summit in 2025
The 2025 NEXUS Australia summit will be held 3-5 March in the Victorian capital under the banner Brave Voices, Bold Ideas. The objective of the summit is to ‘connect across sectors, inspire through shared experiences and activate new pathways to accelerate change and achieve lasting impact’.
The summit will be a highly curated gathering of 250 New Gen philanthropists, impact investors, leading young social innovators and allies from across Australia and the world. The event will hear from young leaders and explore solutions to pressing problems facing the generation in 2025 and beyond.
NEXUS is a global community of 6,000+ young people from more than 70 countries working to increase and improve philanthropy and social change. NEXUS works to unite a new generation of philanthropists (aged 20-45), leading young social entrepreneurs, impact investors and allies to catalyse leadership, build bold and innovative solutions and accelerate action on the world’s greatest social problems.
NEXUS has operated in Australia since 2012 under a collaboration agreement with host partner organisations and operates under three pillars – Connect, Inspire, Activate. NEXUS has held six summits in Australia across Sydney and Melbourne, most recently in 2022.
Philanthropy Australia and Nexus Australia have been collaborating this year, with Philanthropy Australia as the host organisation. The relationship recognises the strong mission alignment and common objectives and memberships between NEXUS Australia and Philanthropy Australia’s New Generation of Giving Program. Both entities have a shared objective to strengthen support for the next generation to drive more impactful philanthropy across Australia.
Australia is on the precipice of the largest intergenerational transfer of wealth in history as more than $5.4 trillion is expected to change hands in the coming 10 to 20 years to the younger generations.
The 2025 NEXUS Australia summit is by application and invitation, with Philanthropy Australia members given precedence in the application review process. Early bird applications for the summit will close on 20 December. Applications can be made via the NEXUS Australia website. There are a limited number of fully subsidised places available for a select group of exceptional early-stage young social change-makers where cost is a barrier, and First Nations people.
