Philanthropy Australia Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Funders Reporting Survey

Tue, 6 Aug 2024 Estimated reading times: 2 minutes

As Chair of the First Nations Funders Network at Philanthropy Australia I am delighted to invite you to contribute to the first ever “Philanthropy Australia Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Funders Reporting Survey”. The survey is launching at the Philanthropy Australia Conference in Adelaide 5-7 August.

As Philanthropy Australia members your feedback will be crucial in forming the first ever baseline of the funding landscape in Australia for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander led or controlled organisations and programs.
The survey results will be turned into a report, made available as an asset for Philanthropy Australia’s members and the broader community, as a live data dashboard on the Seer Data platform.

The survey has been created in collaboration with representatives from the First Nations Funders Network and First Nations Governance Committee.

Throughout the survey, you will be asked to provide details on your organisation’s structure, grantmaking approach, financial reporting on grantmaking and how your organisation focuses on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander funding.

Depending on your situation, we estimate it will take an investment of 30min for preparation and a further 30min to complete the survey.

Creating this groundbreaking, benchmark report is vital to understanding the level of philanthropic funding being received by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander led and controlled organisations in Australia. And importantly, help shift practices towards greater self determination and inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in philanthropy.

On behalf of the First Nations Funders Network and First Nations Governance Committee we thank you for investing your time to contribute to this important project.

Best,
Leah Armstrong
Chair, First Nations Funders Network
