There is new hope of life-changing treatments for people living with glaucoma, the ‘sneak thief of sight’, after the Snow family and their Snow Medical Research Foundation (Snow Medical) announced a $50 million partnership with the University of Sydney to launch the Snow Vision Accelerator this week. It follows a record $100 million gift from the Khuda Family Foundation to the university earlier in February to increase diversity in the STEM sector. |

The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) has issued guidelines to charities on advocacy rules in any campaigning in the lead up to the federal election. The voices of charity leaders make a significant contribution to debate, the regulator said, but there are rules around advocacy that must be followed. |

From the US, a new report by The Center for Effective Philanthropy in Massachusetts provides evidence that MacKenzie Scott’s large, unrestricted gifts have helped strengthen nonprofits’ financial stability and increased their community impact, even as there are mixed views of her giving among foundation leaders. |

Understanding the diverse needs of the Canberra community, the Collaborative focuses on grassroots projects that aim to assist vulnerable community members, providing immediate support and fostering long-term, sustainable change from the ground up. Grants typically range from $5,000 to $50,000, with opportunities for larger, multi-year funding based on project requirements. Expressions of interest close on Tuesday 4 March 2025. |

The Funding Network are looking for grassroots non-profits and early-stage social enterprises who are working to address issues of social inequality, engineering better or innovative solutions to social problems across Australia. Selected organisations will have the opportunity to pitch for up to $30,000 to fuel their impact, build networks, and access TFN’s dedicated Alumni program.

The Waratah Education Fund are offering grants between $10,000-$20,000 to organisations who provide front line support to disadvantaged youth in Australia. Applications close on Thursday 20 March 2025. |
| The Small Grants Program supports projects proposed by individuals, organisations and/or communities who would otherwise be limited by the constraints of other funding programs.
The project must directly or indirectly assist, involve and benefit LGBTQIA+ people and promote positive social outcomes and mental health in the community. Applications close at 11:59pm AEDT on Monday 14 April 2025. |
