The Value of Advice Index 2024 launched by the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA)  reported 94% of clients trusted their financial adviser to act in their best interest and 89% are happy with the relationship. How can you maintain that trust if talking about giving is new to you? Who can you talk to? More than 1,000 people attended the first-ever conference in Adelaide on Kaurna lands, featuring 170 speakers, 12 masterclasses, 21 themed sessions, 24 side events, and a dinner attended by 500. In her opening address, Maree noted that philanthropy was “having a moment” and shared her experiences meeting members nationwide since coming into the CEO role.

After 12 months and more than 3,000 submissions the Productivity Commission published its biggest review of philanthropy in a decade. The Commission made a number of recommendations including opening up the deductible gift recipient (DGR) system.

Six short videos showcasing inspiring South Australian people and organisations working towards better outcomes were launched at Philanthropy Australia’s recent Conference in Adelaide. These stories were made possible by philanthropic support and are a great showcase of what effective philanthropy can do.
