The Scanlon Foundation Research Institute has launched new research and a Social Cohesion Compass. The Social Cohesion Compass shows the Institute’s research at the local government level. It is useful for the design of place-based programs that relate to democratic resilience and social cohesion. The Strengthening Democracy project page links to the compass and other interesting research project updates.

IMPACT100 Sydney North gives at least one major grant of $100,000 each year. Non-profits and social enterprises working in the Greater Sydney region are eligible to apply. They invite applications from organisations assisting families, young people and children at risk. This encompasses key areas of need such as domestic and family violence, women’s shelters, refugees and asylum seekers, disability, homelessness, poverty, alcohol and substance abuse, mental health, etc. Applications close on Friday 28 June 2024. |

Thrive Community Grants aim to improve the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people facing poverty, discrimination or disadvantage by supporting engagement in community life. Smaller, local charities can apply for a one-off Thrive Community Grant of up to $50,000 to assist children and young people to connect with friends, family and the community, participate in activities that build resilience, develop new skills, enrich lives, and create a sense of belonging. The Pride Foundation Australia (PFA) is proud to announce their second grant round for 2024, with a total funding pool of $10,000 with a focus on supporting sexuality, sex and gender diverse (LGBTQIA+) people living in regional and rural areas of Australia.
