Around 285 pregnancies result in miscarriage each day in Australia – or around one every five minutes. It’s an extraordinary figure and yet the most common complication associated with childbirth is shrouded in silence, and unfortunately shame, for many of the thousands of affected families. Author Isabelle Oderberg has set out to change some of the perceptions around this all-too-common experience in her book Hard to Bear, the writing of which was supported by philanthropy.

Discovery Grants are a two-year grant to support testing and developing preventative approaches that support mental health and the conditions for wellbeing with community in South Australia to learn what works, what doesn’t and how it could be scalable, self-making, or sustainable. Each Discovery Grant is to the value of $120,000 p.a. with an additional $5,000 to support the development of tools or evaluation frameworks to inform ongoing learning for the purpose of reflection and adaptation. This large grant round has a total funding pool of $20,000, with a focus on supporting sexuality, sex and gender-diverse (LGBTQIA+) refugees and people seeking asylum. Grant applications should be to the value of up to $20,000 over two years (if applicable). PFA encourages projects that are led by LGBTQIA+ refugees, people seeking asylum and/or people of colour. Expressions of Interest are open and close 5pm AEST on Friday 19 April 2024. Shortlisted EOIs will be invited to submit a grant application by late April 2024.

Each year, national education non-profit Schools Plus with the support of some of Australia’s leading philanthropists chaired by David Gonski AC and in partnership with Commonwealth Bank, celebrates inspirational teachers who are making a transformative impact on children and school communities across Australia. Twelve outstanding teachers or school leaders will receive a prestigious $40,000 award, and ten early career teachers with the passion and potential to make an increasing impact in education will receive a $10,000 scholarship.

The Indigenous Storytellers Scholarship, an initiative by Façon Magazine and generously supported by Greater Bank, is thrilled to introduce the esteemed mentors for the 2024 program.The scholarship program is designed to celebrate, sustain and grow Indigenous art and design in New South Wales. Greater Bank will provide a $10,000 scholarship to support the winner’s creative aspirations, with guidance from Murrook Cultural Centre. The program consists of nine differing creative discipline categories that are open for applications including: fashion design, accessory design, art painting, music, dance, writing, digital art, film, and photography.

The Co-Group (TCG) is proud to be able to work with and donate funds to innovative and caring Australian charities working at the frontline to relieve poverty and enhance the lives of people with disability and older Australians who are in need. A majority of grants are expected to be in the $10,000 - $50,000 range. The Waratah Education Public Ancillary Fund mission is to support underprivileged or disadvantaged families, children, teenagers and young adults so that they have access to educational instruction and to support and fund activities to help break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage.
Waratah Education are offering grants between $10,000-$20,000 to organisations who provide front line support to disadvantaged youth in Australia. Australian communities are being hit harder by natural disasters more often. It takes many hands to get communities back up and running after a disaster and to build resilience for the next one. That’s why the NAB Foundation Community Grants program provides funding of up to $25,000 for local projects that help communities withstand and recover from natural disasters.
