How can philanthropies build shared questions across the sector? How can philanthropies co-develop and prioritise questions with communities of interest?
In this hour-long session, Stefaan G. Verhulst and Hannah Chafetz from The GovLab will delve into their latest resources on DATA4Philanthropy.net – a new platform for philanthropy that features a series of resources on how to leverage cutting-edge data-driven methods and tools across the grantmaking decision cycle, developed with the support of the Paul Ramsay Foundation. The session will include an overview of how funders can use participatory approaches to formulate questions and an in-depth discussion of how data-driven questioning can drive impact for funder evaluations.
The DATA4Philanthropy platform
The GovLab created a new platform, DATA4Philanthropy.net, that features a series of resources on leveraging cutting-edge data-driven methods and tools across the grantmaking decision cycle. One of the methods featured in DATA4Philanthropy.net is participatory sourcing of questions and living evidence.
The platform is a starting point for discussion, and eagerly invites philanthropists for input to develop further case studies and mechanisms to connect them with the expertise often siloed or outside of immediate view.
