Event Description
Join us for the first Education Funders Peer Network in 2023. In this session, we will have:

  • An update from the chairs – John Bush, Paul Ramsay Foundation and Sandra Jacobs, Bennelong Foundation
  • Reflection on the budget and education
  • An overview of what’s new and upcoming in education and philanthropy
  • Insights from speakers working in this space
  • An opportunity for discussion amongst organisations that fund education related causes and projects.

Session presenters

Megan Enders, CEO of Fogarty Foundation

Megan has been CEO of the Foundation since February 2022 after several years on the Board and also following her prior role as Founding Director of the Fogarty EDvance program, held from 2011 to 2015. Megan has expertise in the area of organisational leadership and change management, in both the ‘for profit’ and ‘for purpose’ sectors, having held senior executive roles with organisations such as Rio Tinto, Western Power and also in community and aged care. Earlier in her career Megan served as a senior policy advisor in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and to a former Federal Government Minister.

Dr Zid Mancenido – Senior Manager, Research and Evaluation at AERO (Australian Education Research Organisation)

Dr Zid Mancenido is the Australian Education Research Organisation’s Senior Manager of Research and Evaluation. Having started his career as a high school social sciences teacher in Canberra, Zid has experience working across education policy, practice and research, with organisations around the world including Teach for Australia, the Australian Government and the National Institute of Education (Singapore), and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Zid holds a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) degree from the Australian National University and a Master of Teaching (Secondary) from the University of Melbourne. He also holds a Masters degree in Education Policy and Management and a PhD in Education Policy from Harvard. He also concurrently holds an appointment as a Lecturer on Education at Harvard, teaching courses in education policy and general pedagogy.
