Adelaide 2024 to showcase more and better giving in South Australia, Australia and beyond
The “Gather Round for philanthropy” will take place in Adelaide this August, with the centrepiece being the Philanthropy Australia Conference 2024: Shifting Perspectives, Shifting Practice running 5-7 August.
This is the first time the biennial conference is being held outside Melbourne and Sydney. The conference is the pre-eminent gathering of the philanthropic and not-for-profit sector for learning, networking, storytelling, and celebrating achievements. Sessions will include masterclasses, breakout workshops and plenaries delivered by high-profile speakers from across Australia and around the world.
The celebration of philanthropy is also an unprecedented opportunity for conference delegates to explore Adelaide and South Australia. There are many things for delegates to see and do – from connecting with the vibrant South Australian philanthropic sector by visiting a social enterprise to organising a meeting with a not-for-profit organisation.
On the more social side delegates can plan a pre-conference weekend lunch in the nearby wine regions (Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley) or explore Adelaide from the Central Markets, to the Adelaide Oval and the Art Gallery of SA.
Quotes attributable to Adam Ognall, Acting CEO, Philanthropy Australia:
“We are looking forward to greeting more than 750 delegates in-person including leading philanthropists, senior philanthropy and not-for-profit professionals, and leaders from the business, academic, media and government sectors.
“There’s something at the conference for everyone. We will have sessions that appeal to all the different audiences from early career to highly knowledgeable practitioners and from people starting out on their philanthropic journeys to very experienced philanthropists.
“We’ll explore a diversity of different perspectives and share good practice and inspiring philanthropy.”
