About us

Queensland Gives, by Queensland Community Foundation was established in 1997 as a charitable trust providing an enduring income stream to Queensland charities. Comprising of a General Fund and 260 sub-funds with monies contributed by charities, corporations, government agencies and individuals Queensland Gives supports charities to deliver sustainable services by promoting philanthropy, investing donated monies, distributing income earned and facilitating grants.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fundraising and Business Development Specialist to join our close-knit team in Brisbane City. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for increasing awareness of Queensland Gives and developing and executing fundraising initiatives and strategies, stewarding prospects, donors, sponsors and supporters. Day to day tasks include, driving stakeholder engagement strategies, servicing existing sponsors, presenting to target market groups, managing the administrative process for the fundraising program and working alongside the CEO and Marketing Manager to develop new engagement and marketing campaigns to grow the fund.

About you 

As we are a small team, we are looking for a self-motivated individual, with a positive attitude, who will drive donor acquisition, fostering positive, friendly and timely communications with existing and potential donors. To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience implementing fundraising initiatives and strategies with the ability to identify new contacts, networks, prospects and target markets.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience building and maintaining relationships with current and prospective donors, sponsors and supporters in local and regional areas.
  • Experience preparing compelling presentations and reports and presenting to key target market groups.
  • Experience with fundraising best practice, developing policies and a strong understanding of legislation.
  • Strong administration, data management, writing and coordination skills with the ability to develop forms, brochures and proposals.
