Foundation overview:

The Foundation is an independent Australian registered charity which was established in 2014. Our vision is transforming lives – through improving mental and physical health and wellbeing in the community and supporting the research, prevention, care, and control of cancer.

We offer the chance of personal transformation through professionally coached training programs in Sydney and Brisbane/Gold Coast using qualified and experienced coaches in structured training programs tailored to specific physical challenges such as running, ocean swims, surf ski and adventure challenges.

In return for professionally coached training programs, participants fundraise for cancer research by early career researchers in leading Australian research institutes (including the Children’s Cancer Institute), and for mental and physical health promotion, particularly through exercise, which science increasingly shows can reduce cancer risk.

The Foundation is proud of its strong community and vibrant culture, and since 2005 has raised around $33m, funded over 155 cancer research projects and trained over 22,000 participants.

The Foundation is currently implementing an expanded strategy for income diversification and increased impact which includes new fundraising and marketing initiatives and improved stakeholder communications. It has also been changing the way it engages with research institutions and manages research funding, increasingly with a direct funding model and bringing research grant management expertise inhouse.
