About the Role
In the role of Business Development Manager, you will lead the implementation of our Diversified Funding Framework, fostering a culture of income diversification and fundraising across the organization. This role is hands on and you will secure funding through competitive tenders, partnerships, and potentially explore monetisation opportunities. Additionally, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships with stakeholders and partners, ensuring ongoing support for our primary health care purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the PHN’s Diversified Funding Framework to secure additional resources for primary health care.
- Build and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and private organizations.
- Identify strategic business development opportunities and present them to the Executive team.
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage the tender process and grant applications.
- Engage in networking events and community forums to secure funding and partnerships.
- Lead grant and tender writing, ensuring high-quality submissions.
- Out of hours work on evenings and weekends will be required (e.g., attendance at networking events and activities, community forums or meetings) for which flexible working hours may be negotiated with manager.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Demonstrated experience leading a business development strategy to implementation including identifying and securing funding that is outside of scope of the pre-determined funding that is routinely allocated to the PHN, for example, the Department of Health and Aged Care.
- Proven track record in identifying tender opportunities and leading processes and applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to network and work collaboratively with a wide range of people.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability in developing proposals for new projects, or funding submissions.

Additional Information
Salary: This role is classified as O-T within our Enterprise Agreement, and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally offered between grade O-Q.
