The Opportunity

Here at Telethon Kids, our vision is simple; happy, healthy kids! 

The Development team actively seeks and stewards philanthropic gifts to the Institute and is the first port of call for all donors both existing and potential. We foster a broad community of philanthropic partners including individuals, families, foundations, corporates and community groups. Building and maintaining meaningful relationships with donors, both individually and as a community, is an essential focus of the Development team.

We currently have an opportunity for a Development Services Manager who will manage the donor database, oversee the financial management of gifts, implement all team and organisational policies, ensure best practisce for donor stewardship, and manage budget planning and expenditure. 

Supported by broader Development Team, this role will have high-level responsibility for operationalising, facilitating and reviewing systems and structures to create a best practice fundraising program at the Institute.

Some of your duties in this role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Manage and maintain the donor database, ensuring accurate entry of data for donor and prospect records and the appropriate coding and allocation of all philanthropic gifts and grants.
  • Ensures compliance with team protocols and with all organisational policies (P&C, Procurement, ACNC).
  • Manages and tracks budget and expenditure, and financial forecasting.
  • Support philanthropically sourced award schemes administered at the Institute including tracking, financials, reporting and stewardship. 
  • Maintain effective communication with the team to ensure advice provided and decisions made are well informed.
  • Be a role model for effective and positive leadership which is ethical, results driven and future oriented. 

Conveniently located within the Perth Children’s Hospital, this exciting opportunity will be offered on a full-time fixed term basis for 12 months as a parental leave contract.

About You

This position is well suited to someone who is a strategic, creative yet practical thinker and planner, with a demonstrated ability to lead, manage and work effectively in a complex and changing environment.

The key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Superior people skills – caring, consultative, collaborative and collegial – with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships that create confidence. 
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Previous fundraising experience in the Not-for-Profit sector.
  • Experience working with Salesforce CRM or similar.
  • Experience in a Project Management or Operations role will be highly regarded.
